For The Birds: Bird Trivia at the Brewing Projekt
What does “For the Birds” mean?
Birds are critical to our ecosystems, they pollinate our food, spread seeds and control insects.
They also serve as important indicators of environmental changes.
Over the last 50 years, research shows that North American bird populations have declined by 30%.
The Motus wildlife tracking system uses tiny tracking devices that birds wear as a backpack, which emit signals that are picked up by one of the hundreds of receiving stations spread throughout the western hemisphere.
Tracking birds’ movement and migration is essential for conservation and helps identify threats to vulnerable bird species.
Your donation to one of our “For the Birds” programs will directly support the Wood Thrush and Northern Saw-whet owl motus projects that Beaver Creek Reserve participates in.
