Annual Midwest Crane Count
Date: April 15, 2023
Time: 5:30 - 7:30 AM
Every April, volunteers travel to their local wetlands to count cranes. This annual count of Sandhill and Whooping Cranes covers 6 states, 120 counties and over 1,500 volunteers. Last year in WI a total of 13,019 cranes were counted. Beaver Creek’s Citizen Science Center holds counts in both Chippewa and Eau Claire Counties. There are always other fun encounters including owls, deer, Wood Ducks, fox and coyotes. Join us for an early morning sunrise and counting cranes.
